Lead Teacher

Bernardino G. Hernandez is from Santa Maria, California. He grew up speaking Portuguese, English, and Spanish, which explains his passion for language. He graduated from the University of California, Davis with a B.A. in International Relations, Spanish, and a minor in Latin American Studies in 2009. During his studies at UC Davis and UCLA, he worked as a Portuguese and Spanish tutor for the Foreign Language Department. As a tutor, he enjoyed teaching and helping students with their homework. Although he enjoys upper division Spanish classes, he also has a passion for teaching Portuguese as a second language as it reminds him of how he learned about speaking French through formal schooling.

Soon alter graduating from UC Davis; Bernardino decided to live in Mexico City in order to learn new idiomatic expressions and to pursue a master’s degree in International Relations. In addition to being passionate about language, is enjoying the opportunity to teach Portuguese, English, and Spanish via Skype. This experience will surely prove beneficial when he begins to pursue a doctoral degree in the near future, as he plans to teach and conduct research in various languages as a college professor.
